Digestive Processes-The Oesophagus


The digestive process of the Oesophagus. Circular muscles in the esophagus contract behind the bolus,
(Latin for a ball) which is made after chewing, to prevent it from being squeezed back into the mouth
(puking). Ahead of the bolus longitudinal muscles contract and widen the diameter and shorten the length of the tube.

Consumer rights blog.

New learning intention: I am learning to… To understand the rights of consumers.
To understand the responsibilities of producers.

a person, company, or country that makes, grows, or supplies goods or commodities for sale.: "an oil producer".
a person who purchases goods and services for personal use.: "consumer demand".

Consumer rights are protected by the Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA). The GCA protects you from bad deals, faulty product sales and allows you to seek a fair deal.

Producers must ensure that their goods and services meet the Consumers Guarantee Act. This means their goods must be fit for purpose and services fair.

Film study.

The language of film dictionary:
Body language: The process of communicating nonverbally through conscious or unconscious gestures and movements.: "his intent was clearly expressed in his body language".
Costumes: A set of clothes in a style typical of a particular country or historical period.:"authentic Elizabethan costumes.
Hairstyles: A particular way in which a person's hair is cut or arranged.
Make-up: cosmetics such as lipstick or powder applied to the face, used to enhance or alter the appearance.
Colour: the property possessed by an object of producing different sensations on the eye as a result of the way the object reflects or emits light.
Lighting: Equipment in a home, workplace, studio, theatre, or street for producing light.
Props: A portable object other than furniture or costumes used on the set of a play or movie.
Settings: The place or type of surroundings where something is positioned or where an event takes place.
Dialogue: Conversation between two or more people as a feature of a book, play, or movie.
Sound effects: A sound other than speech or music made artificially for use in a play, movie, or other broadcast production.: "the play used sound effects of galley oars and blood-curdling yells".
Silence: Complete absence of sound.
Music: Vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion.: "couples were dancing to the music" "baroque music.
Symbols: A mark or character used as a conventional representation of an object, function, or process, e.g., the letter or letters standing for a chemical element or a character in musical notation.

Special FX: An illusion created for movies and television by props, camerawork, computer graphics.

Aim: To test if a sample of food contains complex sugars.
Equipment: Test tube, food sample iodine solution.
Method: 1. Place about 2 ml of the sample in a test tube 2. Add 3-5 drops of iodine and mix.
Results: If complex sugars are present the

To test if a food sample contains protein.
Equipment:
Test tube, sodium hydroxide (NaOh), copper sulphate (CuSO4), food sample.

Method:
1) Place about 2ml of the food sample into a test tube and add 5 drops of sodium hydroxide.
2) Add 5 drops of copper sulphate.
3) Shake the test tube gently from side to side.

9Hh Science protein experiment.

Aim:
To test if a food sample contains protein.
Equipment:
Test tube, sodium hydroxide (NaOh), copper sulphate (CuSO4), food sample.
Method:
1) Place about 2ml of the food sample into a test tube and add 5 drops of sodium hydroxide.
2) Add 5 drops of copper sulphate.
3) Shake the test tube gently from side to side.
Conclusion:
The solution went from their original colour to a blackish purple because both food samples contained
protein.

9Hh science experiment

Aim: To test if a sample of food contains complex sugars.
Equipment: Test tube, food sample iodine solution.
Method: 1. Place about 2 ml of the sample in a test tube 2. Add 3-5 drops of iodine and mix.
Results: If complex sugars are present the iodine solution will change from a brown colour to a blue/black colour.
