Digestive Processes-The Oesophagus


The digestive process of the Oesophagus. Circular muscles in the esophagus contract behind the bolus,
(Latin for a ball) which is made after chewing, to prevent it from being squeezed back into the mouth
(puking). Ahead of the bolus longitudinal muscles contract and widen the diameter and shorten the length of the tube.
